We brought learners, educators and partners together for a very special evening at the Manchester Museum to celebrate the first ever Higher Health Student Awards.
The event marked the achievements of students who took part in the Skills4Living programme across Greater Manchester. Over the four months, these young people have shown resilience, creativity and leadership by applying essential life skills to real challenges and supporting one another as Peer Champions and mentors.
Hosted in one of Manchester’s most iconic venues, the evening was a chance to recognise their hard work, hear their stories, and celebrate the positive ripple effects already spreading across colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers.

Highlights of the evening included:
- Awards for learners who demonstrated outstanding leadership, empathy and peer support
- Inspirational stories from students who shared how Skills4Living has shaped their confidence and outlook
- Reflections from educators and partners on the importance of embedding soft skills in education
- A closing message of encouragement for all learners as Skills4Living expands nationally
This celebration was a reminder of why this work matters. By investing in essential life skills, we are helping to build a generation ready for life and giving young people the tools to lead change in their communities.
We are deeply grateful to all the learners, Peer Champions, educators and partners who made this year such a success.
