Programme Manager

Location: Greater Manchester (remote working)
Salary: £31,500 to £37,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, permanent

Application deadline: 27 January 2026

About Higher Health UK

Higher Health UK is a growing charity helping young people to develop the essential life skills they need to thrive emotionally, socially and practically.

Our Skills4Living programme is up and running across more than 15 universities, colleges and apprenticeship providers in Greater Manchester. Every term, thousands of students are taking part in sessions that help them build confidence and a stronger sense of wellbeing.

We’re expanding quickly and are looking for a talented Programme Manager to help lead the next stage of our journey.

The role

This is a key role in a small, passionate team. You’ll take the lead on the day-to-day running of our programmes, making sure that everything runs smoothly, relationships stay strong and our learners have the best possible experience.

This will include managing our Programme Coordinator, supporting our Systems Administrator and liaising with our amazing 20 Student Peer Champions. You’ll also take the lead on programme-related events, communication and engagement activities.

It’s a role for someone who’s organised and loves connecting people and ideas. You’ll need to be comfortable juggling details while keeping sight of the bigger picture – that very much includes a strong emphasis on good data management. And you’ll play a big part in shaping how we grow!

Key responsibilities

Programme delivery and coordination

  • Lead onboarding for new university, college and community partners
  • Keep programme delivery on track across all providers and make improvements where needed
  • Oversee student orientation and Peer Champion activity
  • Create simple, clear processes that help everything run smoothly

Reporting and data

  • Work with our Systems Administrator to keep our data systems (CRM and Learning Management System) accurate and up to date
  • Create easy-to-read dashboards and reports for education partners
  • Use insights to keep improving the programme and learner experience

Learner engagement and communications

  • Work with the Programme Coordinator to plan and deliver regular student communications
  • Keep an eye on learner participation and help boost motivation where needed
  • Share ideas and content for our social media and marketing channels

Events and stakeholder engagement

  • Support coordination our key programme-related events including the Student Awards, Provider Roundtables and Peer Champion Conference
  • Build great relationships with our partners and spot opportunities for new collaborations
  • Manage expenses budgets and logistics so everything runs smoothly

About you

You’re an organiser and a people person in equal measure: someone who enjoys seeing things come together and making things work better. You’ll be confident managing projects, data and relationships, and happy working independently as part of a small, flexible team.

You’ll likely have a degree, or equivalent experience in education, youth work, social sciences or project management, and you’ll be confident managing people and systems in a delivery-focused environment.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience running programmes or projects in education, youth or community settings
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Confidence working with data and digital systems (CRM, email marketing, learning management system or similar)
  • Experience managing or supporting a small team
  • A proactive, can-do approach
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Greater Manchester

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working with universities, FE colleges or apprenticeship providers
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR

Why work with us

  • Join a growing organisation that’s making a real difference to young people’s lives
  • Work with a friendly, motivated and supportive team who deeply care about what they do
  • Have flexibility and autonomy to shape how we grow
  • Fully remote role, with regular in-person work across Greater Manchester
